Jockie goes round to Sarahs house to see the baby, but is still rude toward Sarah. Isobel holds a rehersal, but postpones the show after it appears that nobody has practised their lines. Senga tells Chick they should end their relationship.

Chick is nervous about what Senga wants, as she seems to be back and spending all his money. Sarah feels bad about the Kiss her and Tony shared. Sally is becoming paranoid about her health after reading medical books.

Effie is furious with Jockies attitude toward the baby. Sarah is nervous that Tony thinks their night out is a date, and is very uncomfortable with being out. Chick runs into Senga, and is shocked to see her again.

After talking to Andy, Sally has been more interested in becoming a doctor. Jockie is angry with Effie for going to see the baby, as he sees it as a betrayal. Sarah agrees to go out with Tony after Sheila encourages her to socialise.

Isobel feels sorry for Sam as she is feeling very isolated, so she goes to talk to Jockie and Effie to let them see reason. Sarah gets annoyed with Tony for treating her like a charity case. Andy talks to Dominic about becoming a doctor.

Davie accidently shoots Sam in the gun room during an argument, and he is frantic with worry, but it isn't serious. Tony tells Davie he might lose his gun license after the accident. Effie gives Sarah a present for the baby.

Someone throws a brick through Sarahs window. The doctor tells Davie that he has arthritis, and that he should reconsider his line of work. Jockie gets drunk, and Davie tells him Sam may have sold the estate.

Jockie and Trish are furious that Sarah named the baby after Sadie. Dominic got great results for his exams, and is delighted. Sam tells Jockie that she isn't removing Sarah from the estate, so he tells her that Effie and him quit their jobs.

Kathy doesn't make Jimmy welcome when he returns to the Close, and she and Sheila decide to go out to a nightclub. When Tracy isn't available, Billy has to look after Claire.

Both Bobby and Sheila realise that they have been somewhat economical with the truth. Terry delegates the choice of Jonathan's wallpaper to Sue, and the decorating itself to Sinbad...

Barry and Sinbad show Cheryl and Donna the sights of Liverpool. Tracy returns from London, and Billy is all set to have a go at her. Frank gets a shock when he discovers he has lost something.

Rod returns from London, but his news isn't good. Bobby receives a tip-off about the effects of automation. Sue's nose is out of joint when she finds out how popular Terry is with the ladies.

The trail for Tracy goes dead for Rod and Jamie. Billy discovers he can't even count on Jimmy to be dishonest. Chrissy wonders where Growler got his football.
