A vibrant new mural depicting a historic village in Edinburgh has been unveiled.



It's the latest creation by the artist Chris Rutterford, which will form part of an art trail between Colinton Village and his Colinton Tunnel mural.



The work depicts period village life in Colinton, and features some well-known faces.

The security operation in Aberdeenshire has been increasing in recent days ahead of a visit by Donald Trump.



Vehicle check areas have been created at the entrance, and an increased police presence is expected. A large security cordon is also expected to be put in place over the course of the weekend.



The area got to know Donald Trump very well before other parts of Scotland and other parts of the world.

In just over 24 hours, Donald Trump will arrive in Scotland.



A major security operation is underway, with police on the ground and restrictions on airspace.



The US President will touch down at Prestwick Airport and has plans to visit his golf resorts in Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire, as well as meetings with the Prime Minister and First Minister.

Charlotte Gilchrist was just a tiny baby - 11 weeks old - when she underwent open heart surgery at Glasgow's Childrens Hospital last summer.



Charlotte should have been made as comfortable as possible after the operation.



But, a blunder at the hospital meant she wasn't given enough morphine and left enduring her recovery in pain.



A review has now revealed a catalogue of failures at the hospital which led to seven children all being under-medicated for pain relief.

It's one of the largest policing operations in the forces' history, but the way that Police Scotland handles President Trump's visit this week could now be the subject of legal action from its own officers.
