A scuba diver is in a critical condition with the bends, and the only way to save him is for paramedic Chris Deacon to leap into the ocean from the hovering chopper. A 24-year-old logger has been smashed by a massive tree, and is critically injured at the bottom of a remote gorge. The only way out is by winching up to the chopper.

Episode 2

On Great Mercury Island near Coromandel, a scuba diver has surfaced unconscious without a pulse. Without Rescue 1 he may soon be dead. And it only gets busier for Paramedic Bruce Kerr and Pilot Darryl Sherwin, who head out to South Head on the Kaipara where a 52-year-old woman is critically ill after a horrendous fall.

Episode 3

The Rescue 1 team respond to a call out where an elderly couple in their 60s are in a critical condition after a head on collision. A 38-year-old woman has crashed her motorbike while racing in an annual fundraiser. And a two-year-old boy has fallen into a ditch, broken his leg and is in a serious condition.

A truck driver, who had one leg amputated 40 years ago, has crashed his truck and crushed his remaining leg - if Rescue One can't get him to hospital in time, he will bleed to death; a farmer has suspected spinal injuries after rolling his quad bike.

Westpac chopper paramedic Bruce Kerr has a frantic battle to save a car crash victim with a life-threatening head injury. The Rescue One team also battles to save an elderly man crushed under a ride-on mower, and a young man who's broken his neck after a high speed fall off a sea biscuit.

Episode 6

A middle aged man has fallen from his motocross bike at Muriwai beach. And the team has to pull out all the stops to save a 53 year old farmer's leg after a close call with a skill-saw.

The chopper crew races to save a woman with a rare disease who's in danger of suffocating from uncontrollable muscle spasms; a badly burnt toddler at Cooks Beach needs an urgent airlift to hospital, and a charity motor-bike event turns into a wall of pain for two riders.

The chopper team is called out to save a pilot who's trapped in the wreck of his hang glider; a diabetic bus driver is found seriously ill after four days lying on his floor; and a woman with a badly fractured leg is trapped on the side of a steep, remote hillside at Muriwai.

Episode 9

The Rescue 1 team are en route to the scene of a horrific accident. A pedestrian has been hit by a truck and is in a critical condition. A 75-year-old grandmother has fallen down after a suspected heart attack, leaving her in a critical condition and paramedics perplexed. An ocean-based rescue off the coast of Tairua where a diver has surfaced too quickly and now has a major case of the bends.

A woman is badly hurt after being knocked down a bank by her pet goat, a man is found with serious injuries on a remote beach, an 11-year old girl has fallen down a bank and suffered suspected spinal injuries, and a man who's just recovered from a brain tumour has a sudden stroke.

The chopper team is called out to save a motorbike racer who's crashed at 200ks per hour and a woman scalded by an exploding radiator, plus an elderly golfer in a kilt suffers a heart attack on the 18th hole, and a Great Barrier Wild Hog biker comes to a painful halt.

Episode 12

A 39-year-old man has crashed his bike 15km south of Auckland city, and an elderly man has collapsed while walking. He is unable to speak properly and is incoherent at Waiheke Island. While a 41-year-old mother of two has crashed her car into a truck. She is in a critical condition and has suffered neck and chest injuries at Surfdale on Waiheke Island.
