In February 2012, Greenwich became a Royal Borough. John Sergeant tells the story of this frequently visited and iconic part of the capital, exploring its royal past and charting the remarkable year to come. Greenwich is the first borough to receive this rare honour in over 80 years, yet its connection with royalty goes back nearly six centuries. John meets the team on board the Cutty Sark who are attempting to complete the ship's £50 million facelift before the Queen's visit. He also learns more about the Queen's House, which stands between the two wings of the Old Royal Naval College and is to be transformed into the backdrop for the Olympic Equestrian course
