The story of how a specialist police team took down the leaders of one of Britain's most feared criminal gangs. A decade ago Colin Joyce and Lee Amos would have been beyond reach, but using techniques including hi-tech surveillance, DNA, and CCTV, the police broke the barrier of fear surrounding the gang. This programme reveals how the police team did it, and includes the videos, interview tapes, and forensic materials that made it possible. The arrest of these individuals, who were each sentenced to 34 years in prison, led to a 90 per cent reduction in gun crime in Manchester. The investigation also established a model now being adopted by other forces across Britain.
