The first redundancies have taken effect at the Hall's of Broxburn meat processing plant in West Lothian. Over the coming months seventeen-hundred workers will leave, as the order book runs down. And there's more bad news for the industry tonight, with confirmation the Freshlink sausage factory in Glasgow is to close, with the loss of almost one hundred and fifty jobs. In other news; The Catholic Church are embroiled in a row tonight with the gay rights organisation Stonewall after the charity voted Cardinal Keith O Brien 'Bigot of the Year' for language used in opposition to same sex marriage. The Church claims that the organisation is attempting to intimidate those who back the Scotland for marriage campaign. And in sport; The SFA isn't expected to reach a decision on Craig Levein's future as Scotland manager until Monday, with some board members asking for more information on the implications of backing or sacking him.
