The opposition have branded Alex Salmond's Government a shambles after a day when the SNP have been on the backfoot at Holyrood. It started with two of their MSPs quitting the party over a policy u-turn on NATO membership. And it ended with Labour launching an unprecedented personal attack, calling the First Minister a barefaced liar over Government legal advice on an independent Scotland's position in the European Union. An accusation angrily denied in the chamber by the First Minister. In other news: Detectives are investigating whether a violent sex attacker on the run from an English jail may be linked to attacks on two women in Perth. They're hunting Lee Cyrus, also known as Ivan Leach, who absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire and is believed to be in Tayside. Archaeologists have begun digging at a graveyard in North Ayrshire to try to determine if victims of a World War II sea tragedy are buried in a mass grave. The sinking of HMS Dasher claimed the lives of almost 400 men, but only 24 of them were given proper burials. It's believed some of those who perished may be lying in unmarked graves in Ardrossan. And in sports: Neil Lennon says Celtic go into tonight's Champions League clash under absolutely no pressure, and insists his players won't be in awe of the superstars of the Camp Nou. Despite this, the Celtic boss admits it's a privilege to watch Lionel Messi in action, and says he's run out of superlatives to describe Barcelona's Argentinean magician. Ricky Burns will have a crack at a unification fight against American star Adrien Broner next year - if he successfully defends his lightweight title in December. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide. It has been edited for rights reasons, which also allows us to keep the programme online after the initial 24-hour broadcast window in the UK has passed. Viewers within the UK who want to watch the full episode 'as broadcast' should select the UK version of the programme.
