Civil servants suspended, reviews ordered and millions in tax payers money to be paid out in compensation. Today the rail franchise process was branded a shambles as the deal for the main west coast rail line was scrapped. Virgin are now back in the running after losing the rail contract in August. But that's bad news for Aberdeen-based FirstGroup who thought they had won the thirteen year deal. There are now calls for the service to be re-nationalised. In other news; two men have gone on trial for the racially aggravated murder of a 57 year-old man in Glasgow. Nineteen year-old Adel Ishaq and 20 year-old Asif Rehman deny beating William McKeaney to death in the Pollokshields area of the city in January. And in sport; Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond is tipping Neil Lennon to deliver even more success on the European stage following the club's historic win in Moscow last night. In an interview with STV, the Parkhead supremo says Neil Lennon will continue to be backed in the transfer market and for the first time has spoken of the recent events in Scottish football. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
