Scotland is preparing up for a massive financial windfall when it hosts the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Perthshire in two years' time. First Minister Alex Salmond was handed the ceremonial baton of the host nation at the closing ceremony at Medinah, in America last night. The honour was carried out shortly after Team Europe pulled off an astonishing comeback to retain the trophy. In other news; More than 350 Scottish jobs have gone with the closure of the JJB sports shop chain. Twenty-five branches across the country were closed with immediate effect this morning. Four Scottish shops were sold to rivals sports direct, saving some jobs. And in sport; Jose Maria Olazabal believes the turning point that helped Europe stage the greatest ever fight back in Ryder Cup history came before yesterday's drama in the singles. At one point, Europe were 10-4 down before Ian Poulter inspired a famous win. Scotland's Paul Lawrie also played a signficant part in the famous victory.
