Staff at the Scottish Police College has been bullied out of their jobs. That's the claim from Unison as a new survey by the college revealed a quarter of their workforce has been bullied. Bosses there say they're now tackling the problem and those responsible may face disciplinary action, as the Justice Secretary branded the behaviour unacceptable. In other news: The daughter of a missing care worker from West Lothian broke down today, as she appealed to her mother to come home. Heather McKay disappeared from a friend's house in Dechmont last Friday. Today, as the police stepped up their hunt, the fifty-one year-old's daughter Andrea Waddell said she is sure her Mum is still alive. Rising star Paul Brannigan has returned to the jail he once spent two years in for a special showing of his hit movie The Angel's Share. The actor attended the screening at Polmont Young Offenders Institution and spoke to some of the inmates about how he's transformed his life. Two key appointments which will help shape Scotland's new national police and fire services have been announced by Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill. The first chair of the new Scottish Police Authority has been named as Vic Emery while Pat Watters has been appointed as the first chair of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. A man has been arrested after a woman died in a crash at Aberdeen's Beach Esplanade. 47-year-old Jacqueline Lyon was killed when her red BMW was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Golf on Monday afternoon. Grampian Police said a 23-year-old man had been arrested and is due to appear in court at the start of next week. And in sports: Britain's Aileen McGlynn and Helen Scott had to settle for Paralympic silver in the women's blind and visually impaired time-trial at the London 2012 velodrome as Australia won gold. It’s transfer deadline day - with just five hours left for clubs to do their trading. Some SPL clubs have already concluded deals to bring players in - while others are on the way out and many more are linked with moves. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide. It has been edited for rights reasons, which also allows us to keep the programme online after the initial 24-hour broadcast window in the UK has passed.
