At her fourth Olympics, Scots rower Katherine Grainger has finally won the gold medal she's craved so much. Along with partner Anna Watkins, the 36 year old was victorious in the women's double skulls. In the previous 3 games she left with silver. But today in front of an adoring home crowd, it was her golden moment. In other news; the Royal Bank of Scotland's Chief Executive has claimed it's making good progress, despite announcing pre-tax losses of one and a half billion pounds. Stephen Hestor insists the Edinburgh-based bank is "safer and stronger." But RBS is counting the cost of recent and past mistakes. It's set aside 300 million pounds to deal with a computer breakdown and two miss-selling scandals. And in sport; Neil Lennon has warned the rest of the SPL that his side will not be victims of complacency this season. Hearts boss John McGlynn yesterday claimed that the other clubs would only have a chance if Celtic took their foot off the gas without Rangers in the league to challenge them. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide. It has been edited for rights reasons, which also allows us to keep the programme online after the initial 24-hour broadcast window in the UK has passed. Viewers within the UK who want to watch the full episode 'as broadcast' should select the UK version of the programme.
