Show

History's been made at the Olympics as Heather Stanning won Britain's first ever gold medal in women's rowing. Alongside her partner Helen Glover, the 27 year old from Lossiemouth also won Team GB's first gold of the games. Later tonight it might get even better as Michael Jamieson from Glasgow swims in the 200 metres breastroke - if he wins, he'll be the first Scotsman to take gold in the pool in nearly 40 years. Also, three men have died and a fourth has been airlifted to hospital after a horror, multiple car crash in Cumbernauld. The accident happened at lunchtime near the village theatre. The emergency services are still at the scene trying to piece together what happened. Meanwhile in sport; with just three days before the SPL season starts, fans all over the country will be pondering what the new season holds. The slow death of the old Rangers dominated last season. Uncertainty still hangs over the game in the months ahead. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide. It has been edited for rights reasons, which also allows us to keep the programme online after the initial 24-hour broadcast window in the UK has passed.
