The new Archbishop of Glasgow has said he fears he could be prosecuted for speaking out against same sex marriage if it's legalised in Scotland. Philip Tartaglia made the comments after it was announced he's to succeed Archbishop Mario Conti as the leader of Glasgow's Catholics. Gay rights campaigners say it's an admission the Church has lost the argument. The number of middle-aged Scots diagnosed with skin cancer has tripled over the last thirty years. Experts believe the boom in cheap package holidays and the introduction of sunbeds in the seventies could be behind the rise. In other news, the phone hacking scandal took a dramatic new twist today when eight people, all associated with the now defunct News of the World, were charged with conspiracy to hack the phones of politicians, celebrities and the victims of crime. The list of those charged is headed by former editors Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson who strenuously deny the allegations against them. And in sports, Ian Black will sign for Rangers tomorrow - subject to the club having its SFA membership ratified. Black and former Hearts team-mate Craig Beattie trained with Ally McCoist's squad today. While Black has agreed terms with the Ibrox club, our information is former Celtic striker Beattie hasn't opened negotiations. This episode has been edited for rights reasons.
