The Scottish economy has slipped back into recession. Figures released today show Gross Domestic Product fell by point one per cent in the first three months of this year. It means Scotland, like the rest of the UK, has fallen into a double-dip recession, with a decline in the construction industry to blame. Tonight the First Minister called on the UK government to take urgent action to stimulate growth. In other news; The remains of an RAF pilot have been recovered from the site of a crash involving two Tornado aircraft in the Moray Firth. Flight Lieutenant Adam Sanders, had been missing presumed dead, since the apparent mid air collision earlier this month. The development came as the funeral of another airman who died in the crash took place earlier today. And in sport; Charles Green held discussions with the football authorities about Rangers being stripped of titles. STV News has learned the newco Chief Executive was involved in talks over the possibility of voluntarily surrendering past league championships in exchange for being found a place in the first division. As we now know, no agreement was ever concluded. This episode has been edited for rights reasons.
