The Scottish Government has rejected calls from the Catholic Church for a referendum on same sex marriage. An increasingly bitter row over plans to legalise same sex marriage escalated with the Catholic Church calling for a referendum on the issue. And today at the Scottish Cabinet meeting, responses to the marriage equality consultation were discussed. No firm decision has been reached on the way forward but campaigners say it's vital the government takes a lead. In other news: A jury in Glasgow has been urged to find a man accused of being involved in a bomb plot in Sweden not guilty; A group of charities have joined together to bring a ban on parents smacking their own children back on to the political agenda. In sport: Ian Black says he wouldn't rule out a move to Rangers - if the club can persuade the SFA not to impose a 12 month player signing ban. In other football news, Dundee boss Barry Smith admits he has his work cut out, while Kenny Miller insists he'll make an impact in the MSL. This episode has been edited for rights reasons.
