Detectives are investigating the possibility that a gang of youths travelled from Glasgow to Milngavie at the weekend to start a fight, resulting in the death of a local man. Thirty-one year-old Scott Stirling's body was found in a river by a man walking his dog. Another man sustained serious head injuries. A third man has appeared in court in connection with the incident. In other news; Plans to lower the drink-drive limit in Scotland have been given a cautious welcome by road safety campaigners. Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said the proposals will be brought forward later this year. And in sport; STV News can reveal the SPL have granted Rangers a "period of grace" to meet their membership criteria to play in Scotland's top flight next season.
