History was made on the courts of Flushing Meadows in New York last night - when Andy Murray became the first British man to win a grand slam for seventy-six years. After finishing runner-up in four previous major finals, Murray delivered a champion's performance to beat Novak Djokovic and top a phenomenal summer of British sport. In other news: Two fishermen from Dalkeith have been found dead in a reservoir in Midlothian. The pair, who were in their fifties, were reported missing on Sunday night after failing to return home from one of their regular fishing trips at Gladhouse Reservoir. Their bodies were recovered in the early hours of yesterday morning, but police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened to them. Eight people were taken to hospital this morning, after a minibus crashed into trees on the M8. The bus, carrying ten passengers, left the east-bound carriageway near Shotts. A sixty year-old man was airlifted to the Southern General Hospital. Seven people were later released from hospital following treatment. At least thirty-five firefighters have been tackling a large blaze at an industrial estate in West Lothian. Fire crews were called the blaze at the Calder Motor Company in East Calder this morning. A large quantity of wooden pallets was on fire, producing plumes of black smoke around the area. Teachers in Scotland have among the heaviest workloads in the world, according to a global study. They spend, on average, 855 hours a year in the classroom across primary and secondary school, higher than the international equivalent. And in sports: Charlie Adam is dropped as Craig Levein makes 3 changes for tonight's World Cup qualifier. Hibs defender Alan Maybury says he's worried what impact the international break will have on the club's good form of late. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
