Government ministers have faced an angry demonstration by campaigners against the legalisation of same sex marriage. In other news: An explosion at a building site in the East Renfrewshire village of Eaglesham, has caused extensive damage to homes and vehicles nearby. A court has heard that a pensioner, who was allegedly driven over and killed in the driveway of his home, suffered injuries he couldn't survive. The Scottish Government must do more to teach young girls that being a parent is tough, and babies aren't accessories. That's the message from a group of young mums, who met the Children's Minister today. Sir Chris Hoy is to be given the freedom of Edinburgh. Councillors in the city voted unanimously in favour of the plans today. The six-time gold medal winner is to be given the honour, after becoming the country's most decorated Olympic athlete. Concerns have been raised over the building of a new ten million pound museum in the heart of Dunfermline's historic district. A local heritage group say the ancient capital would be spoilt by the modern development, but Fife Council and the Carnegie Trust say such a facility is long overdue.
