The growth forecast has been slashed, and the Governor, Sir Mervyn King, says hopes of a recovery have been repeatedly dashed. Scottish business leaders say it's a worrying blow to confidence. In local news; a man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the face in an Edinburgh pub. The forty-three year-old suffered face and neck injuries in the attack, in Jo's Bar on Leith Walk last night. Police have issued a warrant for a twenty-four year-old man in relation to the incident. And; a woman who was raped in her home at the weekend knew her attacker, according to police. The twenty year-old was assaulted in Dalkeith, after returning from a night out in the town on Sunday. Police are following a number of new lines of enquiry. Also in sport; Ryan McGowan says he had no intention of ever playing for Scotland - that on the day he received his first call up to the Australia squad. Despite being eligible to play for Craig Levein through his Scottish born parents, the Hearts defender is likely to make his international debut against Scotland in next week's friendly with the Socceroos at Easter Road.
