Olympic fever is gripping the nation, and so far there's been a mixture of success and disappointment on Team GB. The good news is that the Scots within the team have been performing well, with rower Kathryn Grainger breaking the Olympic record in her heat this morning. And there's a chance of a medal tonight at the Aquatic centre with Robbie Renwick swimming in the 200 metre freestyle. A retired detective superintendent has said Fife Police made "serious and basic" mistakes during an investigation into the death of a twenty-three year-old man following a row with his girlfriend. The force decided Colin Marr had committed suicide after he died from a single stab wound to his chest. The detective who has reviewed the case said it should have been treated as a suspicious death from the very start. In other news, plans have been submitted to build Scotland's second biggest offshore windfarm around the coast of East Fife. The 1.4 billion pound project could see as many as a hundred and twenty-five turbines built in the North Sea, with the capacity to power an entire city. And in sport, John McGlynn says he knows who will feature in his starting eleven when his men host St Johnstone at Tynecastle in the SPL opener this coming weekend. The Hearts boss is likely to give John Sutton the nod after the striker scored three goals in four pre-season matches. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide. It has been edited for rights reasons, which also allows us to keep the programme online after the initial 24-hour broadcast window in the UK has passed. Viewers within the UK who want to watch the full episode 'as broadcast' should select the UK version of the programme.
