The number of middle-aged Scots diagnosed with skin cancer has tripled over the last thirty years. Cancer Research UK believe the boom in cheap package holidays and the introduction of sunbeds in the seventies could be to blame. The increase has prompted the charity to launch a new campaign to help spot early signs of the disease. James Coxson from Edinburgh was diagnosed with malignant melanoma last year after going to his doctors with a small brown mark on his cheek. In other news; Police in Edinburgh say the key to solving a brutal sexual assault in the capital lies within the local community. A young woman is still recovering in hospital she was attacked in Leith at the weekend. The twenty-three year-old was found with severe facial injuries in Pilrig Park. Also, in sport; Rugby and Michael Bradley is targeting a top four finish for Edinburgh in the Pro 12 this season. The Head Coach says his men are mentally stronger following their historic Heineken Cup run last term.
