It was brought in to help tackle Scotland's problem of alcohol misuse but tonight the minimum unit pricing is facing a legal challenge. The whisky industry says it will be damaged by the legislation and claims it is illegal under European law. The Health Secretary insists minimum pricing will save lives. In other news; A new report claims a single fire and rescue service in Scotland faces major challenges. Public spending watchdog Audit Scotland says the new Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, due to start next April, must overcome weak political leadership. It also says the current eight-service set-up has an inward-looking and competitive culture. And in sport; The Scots were due to host Alistair Cook's team at The Grange in Edinburgh on August the 12th, but the ground has become so wet it isn't capable of holding temporary seating stands. Supporters who have purchased tickets will be reimbursed. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
