The liquidation of Rangers has moved a step closer after the formal rejection of an offer to the club's creditors. In other news; The First Minister did not breach the ministerial code by inviting SNP-supporting EuroMillions winners to his official residence for tea and biscuits. Alex Salmond referred himself to the panel of independent advisers on the Scottish ministerial code after a complaint was made by a Labour MSP about the private meeting with Colin and Chris Weir at Bute House. The Weirs donated £1 million to the party's independence campaign four days after the meeting. And; New figures show that one in five youngsters are now affected by poverty, compared to one in four previously. While progress has been made in tackling the issue, children's charities are warning that coalition austerity measures are threatening the opportunity to eradicate the problem.
