The High Court in Edinburgh has heard that a businessman, accused of murdering his wife fourteen years ago, told a friend he'd burned her body and ground down her teeth. Hector Dick said that Nat Fraser claimed he'd hired a hitman to strangle Arlene and had cleaned up after the assassin had done his work. He said Fraser boasted that he'd made a fool of the police. In other news: Two men have been jailed for five years each for a parcel bomb plot against Neil Lennon. Trevor Muirhead and Neil McKenzie were found guilty of conspiracy to assault after they constructed packages marked for the Celtic Manager and two other high profile supporters of the club. This time next week we'll know the shape of Scotland's thirty-two Council's for the next five years. The biggest challenge facing the new administrations will be the management of budgets that will be squeezed year on year. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Polish man in the capital earlier this year. The body of thirty-four year-old Maciej Ciania was found in a flat in Leith in January. Twenty-five year old Grzegorz Gamla made no plea when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody. A man had to be airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a road crash in Fife this morning. The accident, between a Ford Focus and a Ford Transit van, happened on the B9157 near Invertial Farm in Kirkcaldy around 7am. Two others suffered minor injuries. Police are appealing for information following a spate of break-ins to homes in West Lothian. The most recent took place at a house in East Whitburn's Main Street on Wednesday night, when a large number of medals and jewellery were taken. A number of homes have been targetted in recent weeks and similar items stolen. The chief executive of NHS Lothian has announced he's retiring after ten years in the job. Professor James Barbour said it had been a "privilege" to serve in the role. It comes just one month after the health secretary Nicola Sturgeon ordered an investigation over claims the health board had manipulated waiting time figures to meet targets. In sport: Edinburgh are sticking with the same winning side for tomorrow's Heineken Cup semi final against Ulster. Boss Michael Bradley has made no change to the starting fifteen which beat Toulouse in the last round for what's being billed the biggest game in Scottish Club Rugby history. Hibs manager Pat Fenlon says every SPL game between now and the end of the season is a cup final. The team could travel to St Mirren on Sunday just three points off the bottom of the table if Dunfermline win on Saturday. Hearts have announced that Ugandan international David Obua is to leave the club. The 2007 South African Player of the Year will not be offered a contract extension by the Tynecastle side. Ahead of this Sunday's Glasgow derby, Ally McCoist believes it could be argued it would be "morally" correct for Rangers to be forced to apply to join the Scottish Football League and play in the Third Division next season. But McCoist believes the rest of Scottish football would suffer if this was to happen. Meanwhile Celtic coach Alan Thompson has backed referee Calum Murray ahead of Sunday's derby, saying he has a lot of respect for him.
