Bogus callers have stolen a five figure sum of money from a pensioner in Kinross. The theft took place at the home of the eighty five year old in the town's Churchill Road earlier this afternoon. The woman allowed two men into her home after they'd inquired about the water. When they left, she noticed her bags had been rummaged through. It followed a similar incident in Perth fifteen minutes earlier when the home of an 87 year old woman was targeted by two men. They got away with a three figure sum of cash. In other news; researchers at Dundee University have made a potential breakthrough in treating women with ovarian cancer. The scientists have been looking at a range of genes which could be important in the development of the disease. They've found that one, called FGF1, is highly active in aggressive, advanced ovarian cancers. Measuring how active it is could predict which women will benefit from certain chemotherapy drugs. And in sport; Celtic get their Champions League Group G campaign underway at Parkhead tonight. The Hoops host Benfica, with manager Neil Lennon urging his side to make home advantage count.
