A teenager is in custody after an assault in Dundee left a man critically ill in hospital. The incident happened in Strathmartine Road on Tuesday evening. The 38 year old victim initially declined medial treatment for facial injuries, but was found unconscious yesterday. Police say an 18 year old man is helping with their inquiries. A glider pilot who was killed in a crash near Kinross has been named. Mark Dickson was attempting to take off at Portmoak Airfield on Tuesday when his Nimbus aircraft flipped over. The 49 year old was originally from Perth and worked as an air traffic controller at Prestwick Airport. People in Arbroath are keeping their eyes peeled for an escaped python. The three and a half foot long snake called Elwood is almost identical to his companion Mishka, who's still with owner Jasmin Miller. Elwood slithered off on Tuesday, much to the concern of the Miller family's neighbours. They say he's not poisonous and won't bite and they just want him to be found so he can get back to his warm tank.
