In other news; one in six children from struggling families in Scotland will go to bed hungry tonight, according to a leading charity. For the first time in its history, Save the Children, which traditionally focuses on relief overseas, is appealing directly to the public to raise money for young people at home. It comes amid fears that levels of poverty are tearing families apart. In local news; the number of prisoners absconding from Castle Huntly is at historically low levels. The Chief Inspector of Prisons says in his latest report that the open estate is now as safe as it's going to be. And; An army cadet instructor from Angus has been jailed for six years after he admitted sexually assaulting a young woman. Callum Stewart, who was a sergeant at the Army Cadet Force in Carnoustie, preyed on his vicitim for four years before she confided in a relative. The High Court in Glasgow heard that he first attacked the woman when she was 19 and that she once took an overdose due to the trauma of what had happened. Also in sport; there've been no more Scotland call offs ahead of Saturday's World Cup opener with Serbia. Norwich winger Robert Snodgrass says they're going into the campaign firmly believing they can qualify. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
