A Fife woman who claimed thousands of pounds in widow's benefit while living with her new husband has been jailed. June Bernard, from Leuchars, started claiming the money after her husband died in 1998. But in 2008 she started living with a new partner and was no longer entitled to the cash, but didn't inform the Department of Work and Pensions until 2010. Today, at Cupar Sheriff Court, she admitted fraudulently claiming more than eleven thousand pounds over a two year period. She was jailed for one hundred and thirty five days. In other news; a member of the governing body which oversees Tayside Police is claiming that there are still rumblings of discontent about the management of the force. Chief Constable Justine Curran was given the backing of the police joint board earlier this week after they'd considered a series of anonymous allegations from a group calling themselves " the loyal staff of Tayside Police." The complaints are believed to relate to various aspects of her management. The board's convener, Councillor Jimmy Black, said today there was nothing to justify any further investigation. But Councillor Bill Bowles, an ex policeman, says he was a dissenting voice. And in sport; Celtic have a tough assignment in the Champions League group stages. They gathered at their Lennoxtown training base to watch this evening's draw in Monaco. And they'll be fairly happy with the outcome. Neil Lennon's men have been placed alongside Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow in Group G. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
