A man who killed his girlfriend in a horrific road crash has avoided a jail term. Jamie Murray admitted causing the death of Sara Louise Scott on the A92 in North East Fife in November 2010. Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard that he lost control of his car which repeatedly rolled over after mounting a verge. Ms Scott suffered severe injuries and died the following day in hospital. Murray's lawyer said he'd suffered a minor lapse in concentration which had terrible consequences. Sheriff Grant McCulloch ordered Murray to perform 275 hours community service and banned him from driving for six years. In other news; former Dundee FC director Giovanni di Stefano has appeared in court accused of falsely claiming to be a qualified Italian lawyer. The 57 year old faces charges including four counts of fraud by false representation and four counts of fraud by abuse of position. The legal advisor has represented the Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs, Britain's most prolific serial killer Harold Shipman and convicted paedophile Gary Glitter. Di Stefano denies the charges and was bailed to appear at Southwark Crown Court next month. And in sport; Dundee manager Barry Smith says a win at home to St Mirren on Saturday will show his side are here to stay in the SPL. Promoted to the top flight after Rangers collapsed into liquidation, the Dees boss know points on the board now are vital if they're to avoid a season-long battle at the bottom.
