A teenager who made petrol bombs that were used to torch his neighbour's car has been jailed for 13 months. Dundee Sheriff Court heard that 19 year old John Duncan used a golf club to smash the windows of Alan McDonald's car in the city's Beauly Avenue in October last year. The following night Duncan, along with a group of friends, some as young as 14, doused the car in petrol before hurling the petrol bomb. Duncan later described the attack on Facebook as "fun and games". Sheriff George Way told Duncan that the making of explosives with intent to cause harm was "completely unacceptable." In other news; Householders in a village in North East Fife are counting the cost of flash flooding. Two homes were inundated in Luthrie early today when torrential rain led to a burn overflowing. Occupants were awoken when water began pouring into their cottages. Water levels rose to about eight inches inside. It's feared a nearby blocked drain may lead to further damage if the heavy showers continue. Fire fighters were called to the scene and were able to pump the water away. And in sport; Scotland manager Craig Levein has confirmed Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will join the Scotland training camp despite being sideline with long-term illness. Fletcher will train with the squad ahead of the friendly with Australia next week. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
