At her fourth Olympics, Scots rower Katherine Grainger has finally won the gold medal she has craved for so long. Along with her partner Anna Watkins the 36 year old was victorious in the women's double skulls. In the previous 3 games she left with silver. But today in front of an adoring home crowd, it was her golden moment. In other news; the Royal Bank of Scotland's Chief Executive claims it's making good progress despite announcing pre-tax losses of one and half billion pounds. It's now set aside 300 million pounds to deal with a computer breakdown and two mis-selling scandals. In local news; Fans of Dundee United fear they may face violence when they travel to Moscow next week. It follows clashes between supporters at last night's Europa Cup tie at Tannadice. And; five men have been arrested in connection with alleged offensive singing at the Brechin Rangers cup game last weekend. Officers from the National Football Co-ordination Unit carried out an investigation after complaints were made about songs performed by some fans at the match at Glebe Park on Sunday. Also in local news; a biker has been accused of driving at one hundred and twenty two miles an hour in a 40 limit near Dundee. It's alleged that Robert Lockhart rode his Suzuki bike at more than three times the limit on the A92 between Panmurefield and East Balgillo in May. And in sport; as representatives from the SPL clubs gathered in Glasgow there was a new face round the table. Dundee's Scot Gardiner arrived as the Chief Executive of an SFL club - he left with the Dark Blues now a fully fledged SPL team. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
