Olympic fever is gripping the nation, and so far there's been a mixture of success and disappointment for Team GB. Scots in the team have been performing well with Aberdeen rower Kathryn Grainger breaking the Olympic record in her heat this morning. And there's a chance of a medal tonight at the Aquatic centre with Aberdeen's Robbie Renwick in the 200 metre freestyle. In other news; A retired detective superintendent has said Fife Police made "serious and basic" mistakes during an investigation into the death of a 23-year-old man following a row with his girlfriend. The force decided Colin Marr had committed suicide after he died from a single stab wound to his chest. The detective who has reviewed the case said it should have been treated as a suspicious death from the very start. And; an investigation's underway into an early morning fire at an industrial site in Angus. Firefighters were called to a blaze at a former plastic castings factory in Carnoustie's Anderson Street at around half past four. It took more than two hours to bring under control. Also; The family of a well known Dundee butcher who died after being crushed by a lorry at work say the city has "lost one of its sons". And in sport; Dundee United boss Peter Houston says he's not fooled by Dinamo Moscow's poor domestic form. Houston says he expects the sternest of tests when they visit Tannadice in the Europa League on Thursday. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
