Complications in pregnancy have fallen as a result of the ban on smoking in public places, according to researchers. There's been a ten per cent drop in the country's overall premature birth rate, and fewer babies are born underweight. Experts believe this is linked to a fall in the number of mothers-to-be smoking since the new law came in. In other news: The Provost of Perth says he's tremendously encouraged by suggestions that two UK towns could achieve city status as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations; Dundee's Remploy factory has been spared closure in a round of Government cuts. In sport: Former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness says Scotttish football can survive and prosper if Rangers go bust. And he wants Rangers to be stripped of trophies if they're found to have broken SPL rules over player payments. This international version of STV News at Six is viewable world-wide.
