The son of an elderly woman battered to death in her Perthshire home has denied having anything to do with the killing. Accused William Kean is blaming David Methven for Jenny Methven's murder. Mr Methven has admitted lying to the police about having £150,000 in the Forteviot cottage, but denies being a drug dealer and money lender. In other news; more than three-quarters of jobseekers would take a job they were over-qualified for to secure work, according to a new survey. Nearly half said they would take a pay cut, while about three-fifths said they would take part-time work. And in sport; Aberdeen have confirmed defender Mark Reynolds has rejoined the club on a season long loan. The 25 year old Sheffield Wednesday player spent the second half of the last campaign at Pittodrie and has agreed to extend his stay this term.
