Drama series about Harry Selfridge, who arrived in London from Chicago in 1908 with a grand plan to open the finest department store the world. Harry invites explorer Ernest Shackleton to give a lecture but is rattled by news of a death close to home. Rose is forced to tell Harry that Roddy is making a nuisance of himself, but when Harry encounters him later, he is shocked by what Roddy has to say. Victor finally plucks up the courage to tell Lady Mae what he really thinks of her
